Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actress who is known for her role as the spirited attorney Teri Joseph in the Showtime series Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. As a child within Baltimore, Maryland, she was always fascinated by acting. When she participated in a Maryland high school contest during her first years of schooling, she won the prize for the most outstanding actress. In addition to her work at the theater as well as with The Washington Ballet Company. She earned the degree of Acting at New York University. Her debut role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned an immense amount of respect. In the following years, she was a star in films such as "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". Soul Food, her TV show was highly regarded for the performance she gave. Contractor, a Mumbai-born Indian, who lived in Nigeria at the age of was seven years old. knew a great deal about world cultures and traveling even at a very young age. She attended boarding school in London from seven to nine years old, then her family relocated to Toronto, Canada, where she lived for the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. Contractor had a great academic career throughout her time in Toronto in addition to her training as a ballerina. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts, a specialized public arts high school where she did not only dance but also studied theatre. Contractor decided to take acting more seriously at age of 16 following almost 10 years of dancing. When she graduated from high school she was awarded a full grant to attend Toronto's University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. Contractor was a student who'd completed her university degree, went on to audition during an open call for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadawhich she won the part. The production she appeared in received acclaim from Canadian reviewers. Contractor accepted an invitation to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. Only eight men selected and four females accepted to a course of 20 weeks in the classical theatre. Contractor got a confirmed slot for the following season. She was also offered the role of Hermia.
